Designed specifically for NORBIT’s integrated systems, the PORTUS is a portable sonar mounting pole engineered for hydrographic surveys on small vessels and vessels of opportunity. Ideal as a temporary sonar mounting system, it enables rapid deployment without permanent installation.
The complete pole mount system fits into a single airline check-in case, with a total transport weight of just 27 kg (60 lbs), including a durable wheeled hard case—making it easy to mobilise to remote survey locations.
Rigid, High-Performance Pole Mount for Accurate Survey Data
Built from a streamlined, multi-directional carbon fibre structure, PORTUS delivers exceptional rigidity and hydrodynamic performance. This allows for stable multibeam sonar data acquisition at sustained survey speeds of up to 8 knots, even with the pole fully extended.
The kit incorporates a 3-position telescopic mast with fixed/known offsets and repeatable patch-test alignments for rapid and accurate dredging, infrastructure, or clearance surveys.
